Current Research
Currently I am doing research on Grid computing. Grid is a new emerging field initiated in the mid of 1995 at SanFransisco. The concept comes from Electrical power grid that shares electricity across distributed regions. Similarly Grid computing is a technology of sharing computer resources such as storage, CPU (central processing unit), memory over the Internet. The technology was initiated to solve certain computationally intensive (requires huge amount of computer raw resoruces) problems such as drug design, weather forecasting, brain activities.
Grid resources are distributed across the world and owned by different owners. Therefore, owners' point of view, price is an important factor to allow others using their resources. In addition, Grid resources are heterogeneous and different economic models such as Commodity market model, Bargaining model, Double auction are found efficient for managing these heterogeneous resources. For seamless management of these resources, Grid has to be autonomous. Agents are autonomous and intelligent in behavior and could be integrated in the Grid to meet the demand. Hence, an agent-based comprehensive pricing architecture would be crucial for Grid computing technology. Hence, the aim of this research is to develop a comprehensive pricing architecture for Grid computing.
